The Tier 4 General Student visa is a point based visa system where you need 40 points to secure a visa. 30 of those points come from the Confirmation of Acceptance of Studies or CAS which is given by the university once the university or institution you are going to is sure that you are a genuine student. they sometimes will require a deposit and an interview before they will issue the CAS. The 10 points comes from finances. You need to show that you have the first years tuition fees plus the first year’s living expenses in a bank account for a minimum period of 28 days. the money needs to be kept in an approved bank. To apply for the visa the following documents are needed to be submitted:

  1. TB Screening Certificate
  2. Academic documents mentioned in the CAS
  3. Financial documents: this could either be bank statement for a minimum period of 28 days or official educational loan letter or government scholarship confirmation
  4. If the money is shown from either parents accounts then a birth certificate and a letter of financial support from parent is needed
